Meet Your Teacher
Daniel | Owner & Head Teacher
Hello! My story began in the beautiful countryside of Wales, and I grew up in the lively city of London. Eight years ago, I moved to Japan—a country that quickly felt like the perfect place to build a life. Today, I live in Fukuoka with my family and feel fortunate to call this city my home.
In my free time, I enjoy playing football (soccer) and visiting my local bowling centre. I’m somewhat of a pop culture enthusiast and have a particular interest in film, music, and video games.
Teaching Experience
Over the past eight years, I have been incredibly grateful to teach English to a wonderful variety of learners:

Kyoto - Served as a Lead Teacher for young learners and a Homeroom Teacher at an international kindergarten.

Fukuoka - Continued my journey guiding both children and adults, having had the privilege of working as a Lead Teacher at one of the city's most prestigious language schools.
I founded Hilltop English to share these experiences with our community. My goal isn’t just to teach grammar, but to create a warm, happy, and encouraging programme where learners of all ages feel appreciated, confident, and excited to learn. I look forward to welcoming new learners to our school!
